Playoff Results & Championship Preview

After a nail biting season finale, the Nutmeg State Baseball League entered its playoffs with a new format. Both the quarterfinals and semi finals would be played on the same day, with the championship the following weekend. All of the games would take place at the home fields of the two highest seeds: Veterans Field in Bridgeport and Jonathan Law HS in Milford. In the quarter finals...

In Bridgeport: The New Haven Kings edged past the Stratford Owls 2-1 to advanced to the semifinals against the top seeded Flyers. In Milford: The Silver City Banditos handled the Naugatuck Hackers to advance to face the Milford Monsters. In the semifinals, the top seeds came on the field fresh against the lower seeded underdogs, who were loosened up and determined to keep their championship hopes alive. In the end, top-seeded CT Flyers and the defending champion Milford Monsters prevailed to advance to the finals. Here is where the bracket stands:

The 2019 NSBL Championship will be a clash of the titans. The 2018 champions will face the regular season champions in a showdown at Old Tavern Road in Orange. This will make for an exciting culmination of a season that started over four months ago in the beginning of April. First pitch is at 10AM this Sunday, August 18. Will the Monsters repeat as champions? Will the Flyers, a perennial regular season powerhouse, seal the deal with a league championship? Well, that's why we play the game!
