Milford Monsters Win 2018 Championship at Quigley

8/26/18 WEST HAVEN, CT - The Milford Monsters were brought into the CT NABA 13 years ago by Chris Capalbo. It wasn't long before Capalbo's high school friend Matt Donovan joined him at the helm, and the two have co-managed the team ever since. Over the years their teams have brought hard-nosed, disciplined baseball to the league, but they had no championships to show for it. That all changed in 2018 when the Monsters - comprised of veterans and new guys alike - took their first Connecticut NABA crown home to Milford.

Milford had a difficult path to the championship, having to get past the Naugatuck Hackers and CT Flyers to reach the finals at Quigley Stadium in West Haven. Ace Tim Brown won all three playoff games including a complete game shutout performance against 2017 champion Southington Aftershock to seal the title. Dennis Hine, Chris Flynn, Rich Catalano, and Nick Tuzoulo were key contributors all year long for the Green Machine.

Congratulations to Chris Capalbo, Matt Donovan, and the rest of the Milford Monsters on their first championship in franchise history!

The Milford Monsters moments after clinching their first championship in franchise history. Milford defeated the 2017 champion Southington Aftershock 4-0 at Quigley Stadium in West Haven.
